ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has awarded Sydney-based CIMIC Group’s subsidiary Leighton Asia and Philippine-based engineering and construction company First Balfour a contract to deliver the first phase of the STT Fairview 1 data center development in Quezon City, Philippines.
The STT Fairview data center campus, upon completion, is anticipated to encompass 83,000 square meters across four buildings, offering a development potential of 124 megawatts of IT load capacity.
Strategically located in Quezon City, the campus benefits from proximity to substations, essential telecommunications infrastructure, transportation links, and business and industry hubs.
Designed to serve hyperscalers and enterprises, STT Fairview aligns with the company’s sustainability objectives. It will also provide direct network connections to STT Makati, ensuring immediate access to a diverse range of local and international network service providers, internet exchanges, and submarine cable systems.
In a commitment to sustainability, STT Fairview will employ eco-friendly practices, including the use of hollow-core concrete slabs, recycled steel, and high-density polyethylene piping.
The facility will be equipped to accommodate liquid-cooled solutions and servers, tailored to customer preferences, contributing to substantial reductions in energy consumption and water usage, particularly in tropical climates.
Furthermore, the data center is set to meet rigorous international standards, including LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council, Uptime Institute Tier III, and TIA-942 Rated 3. The project’s financial details have not been disclosed.
