STT GDC Indonesia Breaks Ground on Second Data Center in Jakarta

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (Indonesia), or STT GDC Indonesia, has announced the groundbreaking of its second data center facility in Indonesia, STT Jakarta 2. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion plans in the country, aiming to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure.

STT Jakarta 2 will be part of the STT Jakarta Data Centre Campus, and has a development potential of 24 megawatts (MW) of IT power. The campus features a dedicated 150kV substation, ensuring redundancy and reliability.

According to Hendrikus Hendra Gozali, Country Head of STT GDC Indonesia, the data center will play a crucial role in supporting Indonesia’s digital economy, providing businesses with the necessary infrastructure to thrive in the digital age.

Strategically located in Bekasi, Jawa Barat, STT Jakarta 2 will offer an IT load capacity of 24 MW upon completion, contributing significantly to STT GDC Indonesia’s target of achieving a total IT load of over 90 MW in the coming years.

Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Asia for STT GDC, expressed optimism about Indonesia’s digital future, stating that the company is committed to empowering businesses to unlock new opportunities in the digital space.

The development of STT Jakarta 2 is part of STT GDC’s broader strategy to expand its data center footprint in Indonesia.
