ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has entered into a joint venture with VNG Corporation, a prominent Vietnamese technology company, to develop, construct, and operate data center projects in Ho Chi Minh City. This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing Vietnam’s digital infrastructure.

The partnership includes the continued operations of STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 1, previously known as VNG Data Center, located in the Tan Thuan area. Additionally, a new facility, STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 2, will be established 1.5 kilometers away within the same cluster. This new data center is slated to be operational in the first half of 2026.

Headquartered in Singapore, STT GDC provides colocation services through over 95 data centers across more than 20 markets worldwide. Together with VNG’s local expertise and engineering capabilities, the partnership aims to elevate international data center standards and support Vietnam’s digital transformation efforts.

Strategically positioned as Ho Chi Minh City’s first carrier-neutral connectivity hub, the data centers offer network coverage from major local telecommunication operators and services such as cloud access, local leased lines, and disaster recovery workspace. Customers at STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 1 will benefit from direct peering connections to VNGGames and VNG Cloud.

The new STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 2 data center will feature a potential development capacity of up to 60 megawatts of IT load. It will be linked to the first data center through robust network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and expansion opportunities. This facility will also have access to nearby substations, key telecommunications networks, transportation links, logistics centers, and business and industry hubs, as well as connectivity to other provinces via the HCMC Outer Zone Expressway.

This joint venture underscores a commitment to enhancing Vietnam’s data center landscape and supporting its growing digital economy.
