ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC)’s newest data center facility in Singapore called STT Defu 3 is now live.
STT Defu 3 is the latest addition to its flagship Defu data centre campus, built to maximise the advantages of seamless connectivity on-campus, centralised monitoring, and pathways for easy access throughout the campus. Fan walls in the data halls are a distinctive feature which greatly improve our cooling flexibility and efficiency, the company said in a LinkedIn post.
The hyperscale data center has also been designed to meet the highest sustainability benchmark of BCA-IMDA Green Mark Platinum and LEED v4. Recently STT pledged that its data center operations will be carbon-neutral by 2030.
Data Center Specs
This development comes almost 16 months after STT GDC announced the construction of STT Defu 3, its newest data centre facility in Singapore and the group’s eighth local facility. The seven-level facility at Defu Avenue 1, will have a Gross Floor Area (GFA) of over 156,000 square feet (14,500 square metres).
With the addition of STT Defu 3, the STT Defu campus will also operate with a central monitoring and security system and offer vital internal fibre connections that link STT Defu 3 with the other two data centres on-campus. This mesh of fibre optic pathways will STT’s customers to establish private fibre links between the different buildings.
STT Defu 3 will also benefit from access to any telecommunication carriers who are already present on-campus.
STT Defu 3 will also be built to comply with the most stringent global standards on business continuity and security. The new Tier 3 data centre facility will provide high levels of redundancy in terms of power, storage, compute and network capacity to ensure smooth operations in the event of any unforeseen circumstances. It will also meet the Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA) to the highest level to offer the most secure operational environment.
