Stack Infrastructure plans 450MW data center campus at Erskine Park, Sydney

Data center firm Stack Infrastructure has lodged a SEARS application with the New South Wales government for the development of a data center campus with an operational capacity of 450MW.  The campus will be located at 78 Lockwood Road on a 7.7 hectare site within the 140-hectare Fitzpatrick Industrial Estate in the western suburb of Erskine Park, some 40 km from Sydney’s CBD.

The development is planned to span 82,020 square metres over three storeys with a building height of 24 m. The development will include also 156 backup generators. a substation, water storage, ancillary infrastructure and landscaping. The project investment is AU$650 million.

The site was acquired last year by real estate firm ESR subsidiary, Logos and listed as the Erskine Park Logistics Estate.

Stack entered the Australian data center market in 2022 when it took over three development projects owned by local developer Hickory. In 2023, Stack launched the Truganina, Melbourne facility initiated by Hickory in late 2021. The company also operates a data center at Hume, Canberra.
