SK Telecom to Launch AI Data Centers in Seoul

South Korean telecom giant SK Telecom announced plans to expand its AI infrastructure with the launch of a new AI data center in Seoul and an AI data center testbed in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province. These facilities will be powered by Nvidia’s advanced GPUs.

The company is also introducing a subscription-based AI cloud service to enhance GPU accessibility for domestic businesses. Additionally, SK Telecom is partnering with Lambda to offer GPU-as-a-Service, leveraging Nvidia’s H100 and upcoming H200 GPUs.

To further strengthen its AI capabilities, SK Telecom is integrating edge AI technology into its nationwide communication network. This integration will bridge the gap between centralized AI data centers and on-device AI, enabling real-time, intelligent applications.

As part of its broader strategy, SK Telecom aims to create a nationwide AI infrastructure by combining regional data centers with GPU-as-a-Service offerings.
