Sify Technologies to invest over Rs 2,600 crores for Data Centres in Noida

Sify Technologies has announced that it will be investing INR 2,692 crores in the Data Centre space in Noida.

The announcement was made at the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit which was held recently.

“The announcement came at an impressive groundbreaking ceremony graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presided over by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The new facilities are in line with Sify’s ambition to add 200 MW in the next 4 years and further ramp up capacity across the country,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.

NCR-Delhi is expected to emerge as a new data centre hotspot as demand from Government departments and IT/ITeS are expected to drive further growth.

According to a JLL report titled ‘2020 India Data Centre Market Update’, NCR–Delhi data centers are expected to tend to the increasing demand arising from various digital transformation initiatives by the government.

Around thirteen companies, including domestic and international firms, have expressed their interest in setting up data centres in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in Noida, with an investment of about Rs 22,000 crore.
