Second Edition Of Singapore Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2019

The second edition of the Singapore Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2019 (SGCDC 2019) by WMedia at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on the 11th July 2019 brought together 1000 selected IT professionals and 30 leading cloud and data center technology providers from the industry to be ready for the next wave of technology growth.

The top three industry trends featured in both exhibition space and the conference were:

  • Hyperscale Datacenter facilities
  • Enterprise Solutions from SaaS to IaaS to maximize business profitability and productivity
  • Next generation Edge computing

A stellar line up of keynote speakers from the industry discussed the evolution of data centers in Singapore including the current trends impacting its growth tremendously as the data center landscape in Singapore has been evolving rapidly over the past years.

Among the speakers include Frost & Sullivan’s Nishcal Khorana, who spoke about the paradigm shift in growth strategy of data centres and Omer Wilson from Digital Realty who explained what the future brings for the critical infrastructure and what does it mean for Singapore, South East Asia and Asia Pacific. 

Facebook’s Gavin Chua and Yongsuk Choi facilitated and provided info about the strategy, benefits and best practices on Open Compute Project (OCP) in Hyperscale Data Centers in Asia Pacific. A selected group of delegates chosen for this Exclusive Private Forum discovered more on OCP and Green data centers in Singapore with the first ever virtual hall led by the Facebook team and Steve Helvie, OCP Chairman.

The Singapore Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2019 presented a new designated “Plug-in Datacenter” in the expo hall. Technology leaders showcased Cloud and Edge computing via simulations on the practice of storing, managing and processing large amounts of data on remote servers and data centers by cloud computing. There were Technology Bench presentation sessions by various industry professionals from Onion Technology, Tripp Lite, and WTI. The Plenary and Expo Hall featured interesting IT trends and topics presented by our keynote speakers and technology bench speakers.
