SEA Cloud & Datacenter Awards Summit 2021 (Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines)

[Online] Thurs, 19th Aug 2021, 9:00am – 12pm (GMT +8)

Southeast Asia has seen some of the most dramatic and rapid developments in the cloud and IT industries over the past 18 months, and now is your chance to come together alongside top minds in the ASEAN region to discuss these transformations.

Our 19th August Summit will focus on the markets of Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam. As part of our ongoing Awards Season, we will highlight different projects and categories of achievement, as well as talk to local experts about how their market is responding to the exponential growth we’ve seen sweep through Southeast Asia.

So how are Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam transforming? All three countries offer unique incentives for global investment and boast dynamic local economies that are expanding by the day. Malaysia was recently selected as the site for Microsoft’s $1bn USD investment in Azure datacenters, signaling a vision of growth for the market and increasing its competitiveness with mature neighboring markets like Singapore. Vietnam and Philippines likewise have growing potential despite COVID restrictions. Amazon is partnering with Vietnamese SME’s to accelerate cloud adoption amongst local firms, while Philippines’s Telco giant PLDT is helping advance reliability and sustainability goals in the region to attract global tech companies. Additionally, both countries are taking advantage of their long coastlines to prioritise additional subsea cable construction to meet the demand for local data storage.

Join us as we dissect remarkable developments in a series exclusive of keynote presentations, panel discussions, and 1-on-1 interviews.

09:20[MY] Panel Discussion: DC Hyperscale Innovations on the Market: Discussing AI, Cooling and Human Capital

Malaysia has been an increasingly attractive location for DC hyperscalers, resulting in significant challenges such as increased demand in green and efficient energy and intensifying competition between DC players. The recent pandemic has further complicated constructions and fitouts due to slowed international deliveries of datacenter equipment and strict movement policies within the country. All of these aspects urge the industry to think outside the box and innovate. Join our panel to discuss the future of AI in Datacenters and how it can impact human capital, energy efficiency and cooling technology

09:50[MY] Keynote Presentation : Optimizing Datacenter Floor Space

Growth is an almost universal business goal. But growth presents its own set of challenges—especially if it happens quickly. And as business growth increasingly requires companies to grow their IT operations, data center managers must increasingly be prepared to scale infrastructure capacity.
This session will explain how datacenter operators are optimizing floor space and power to meet increasing operational requirements for resilience, efficiency and agility.
