Manik N. Saha
CIO – Asia Pacific and Japan | SAP
Manik Narayan Saha is the CIO for SAP Asia Pacific and Japan. Based in Singapore, Saha leads a global multinational and multicultural IT organization. As part of the senior leadership team in APJ, he is responsible for SAP’s internal IT services to 30,000+ staff in the region.
As companies rapidly move to the era of the artificial intelligence, Saha works closely with the leadership team in APJ to execute on enabling SAP as an Intelligent Enterprise. Committed to successful business transformation, his experience includes IT strategy and transformation, IT operations, emerging technology, vendor management and building successful business-IT partnerships. Since November 2017, he has overseen several successful initiatives using machine learning in the region.
With around 20 years of diverse experience in technology, Saha has led several strategic projects for SAP and discussions with cloud hyperscalers in the APJ region, noteably in China and India. He serves as an executive sponsor on technology strategy to several large clients of SAP in the region and is a prominent speaker at events. On a regular basis, he provides thought leadership on a wide range of topics ranging from IT Strategy, artificial Intelligence, cloud and hyperscaler strategy, process excellence and enterprise innovation.
Saha is a member of the INSEAD Alumni Network and was until recently a Regional Ambassador of the INSEAD Directors Network (IDN) for Singapore, where he works closely with the INSEAD Corporate Governance Center at Insead regularly organizing talks on corporate governance for non-executive directors and CXOs. At Insead, he is also a regular coach for the course “Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption” since 2018.
Passionate about giving back, Saha was the founding fellow and is currently a Vice-President for Ideation Edge Asia, a non-profit organization. With this setup – he is actively engaged in the start-up community in Singapore, regularly organizing events and meetings with startups, incubators and investors.
Prior to joining SAP in 2005, Saha worked at in the shipping and logistics industry for 6 years, and was responsible for container operations technology, for Singapore and overseas ports.
In 1999, under a full scholarship from the Ministry of Education Singapore, Saha received his degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He has a Masters in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University in 2008, and a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD in 2016.
