Xynteo, a sustainability and strategic advisory firm has officially launched PoweringAI, a new pan-European venture which aims to convert industrial-scale sites into high-performance data centers to support artificial intelligence infrastructure.

According to a press release, PoweringAI entered the European market with 350 MW pipeline projects, focusing on repurposing legacy industrial and port sites into integrated “energy park + data center” developments and is financially supported by funds from investment firm Leon Capital LLP.

Michael Youtsos, Partner at Leon Capital LLP and Chairman of PoweringAI, said, “By tapping into Xynteo’s industrial incumbent relationships, coupled with more than a year’s worth of investment in IP and expertise with site origination and development, we are creating a platform that delivers commercial success at the intersection of power and compute.”

Alex Rabbetts, Senior Advisor for Data Centers, PoweringAI, added, “As Europe’s energy transition accelerates, the intersection of power, industry, and compute will define the next decade of infrastructure investment. PoweringAI is uniquely positioned to build that bridge delivering sustainable, powered data center sites with deep industrial integration.”

Rasmus Lundsgaard Nielsen, Partner and CEO, Xynteo, said, “PoweringAI is building the development engine Europe needs to deliver AI infrastructure at speed, with quality, and with industrial legitimacy.”

The approach is designed to reactivate underused land located in areas with historical industrial activity to position and convert Europe’s industrial heartlands into digital infrastructure, supporting the continent’s competitiveness in the global AI market.
