PT PLN Batam signed an Electricity Purchase Agreement (PJBT) with PT Teknologi Data Infrastructure (NeutraDC Nxera Batam) last Friday to supply electricity to the latter’s Diamond Data Center located in Kabil Industrial Estate, Batam, according to Antara, Indonesia’s national news agency. Through this deal, PLN Batam will gradually channel medium-voltage premium electricity service with a total capacity of up to 90 megavolt ampere (MVA) from 2025 to 2028. The agreement is valid for a minimum period of five years, with PLN Batam committing to supply a stable, safe, and high-standard electricity supply.

“This cooperation strengthens the commitment of PLN Batam in providing reliable electricity infrastructure to support the growth of PT Teknologi Data Infrastructure. Through premium services, we ensure the energy needs of data center customers are met according to global standards,” said Kwin Fo, President Director of PLN Batam.

PLN Batam, he added, is ready to supply stable and sustainable electricity to meet the needs of the fast-growing data center industry in Batam which is driven by e-commerce, e-learning, e-government, social media and cloud applications.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Teknologi Data Infrastructure, Indrama Yusuf Muda Purba, expressed his appreciation for the strategic collaboration with PLN Batam.

“This partnership is an important step in strengthening the data center business ecosystem in Batam City. With the support of premium electricity services, we are optimistic that we can operate with high reliability standards to serve the national and international markets,” Indrama said. He added that the construction of data centers is not only about physical infrastructure, but also about building synergies with energy providers such as PLN Batam as a strategic partner in ensuring operational sustainability.
