Philippines’ third telecommunications player, DITO Telecommunity will be partnering with China’s Whale Cloud to develop a strong IT system for its expansion into the country in 2021.
DITO will leverage Whale Cloud’s next-generation telecommunications solutions to gain competitive advantage in the Filipino market.
“As a new player in the Philippines, we strive to be a game-changer and give what the Filipinos deserve – faster connections, wider coverage, and better customer service,” said Albert Jiang, IT Director of DITO Telecommunity.
Whale Cloud’s solutions include business and operations support systems, big data capabilities, and intelligent customer services, all of which will perform functions such as customer management, product catalog, revenue management to network rollout, operation, data analytics, and self-service diagnostics.
“With Whale Cloud as our strategic partner, we believe their digital solutions, delivery track record and industry know-how will allow us to faster achieve success in the 5G and IoT era,” said Mr. Jiang.
Whale Cloud hopes to build a robust Digital Intelligence Technology Operation Platform (DiTOP) that will support DITO in its Filipino market debut in March 2021.
“The partnership validates the confidence DITO has in our solutions and services, and expands our footprints in serving the ever-growing Philippine market. We will continue to offer high-quality services to help DITO strengthen the position in the expanding communications market,” said Ben Zhou, the CEO of Whale Cloud.
In addition, Whale Cloud will also provide professional consultation services based on the company’s SOPs and its very own Digital Telco Maturity Map (DTMM), a blueprint that serves to guide telecommunication firms in their digital transformation journey.
Whale Cloud’s partnership with DITO comes shortly after its collaboration with Indonesia’s Smartfren telecommunications.
To strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure, DITO has also recently appointed US-based Fortinet to be its main cybersecurity provider.
