PDG plans 500 MW capacity expansion across Asia

Princeton Digital Group (PDG), a prominent data center provider, has announced that it has acquired powered land for 500 MW capacity expansion in key markets across Asia such as India, Indonesia and Malaysia. The company will develop AI-ready digital infrastructure here.

According to a press release, the 500 MW capacity is across Mumbai, Chennai, Johor and Jakarta, occupying over 88 acres. PDG’s flagship Mumbai data center MU1 will become a 150 MW campus with the addition of 100 MW. With a new 72 MW campus in Chennai, the company’s footprint in India will increase to 230 MW. Johor will become a 370 MW region for PDG with the addition of 200 MW. The expansion also includes a 100 MW site in Jakarta.

“In anticipation of the continued growth of AI demand, and driven by the strategic needs of our customers, we have now acquired a further 500 MW of powered land and expansion footprint. This capacity is in locations where we have already proven our ability to deliver,” said Rangu Salgame, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder of PDG. “By securing access and roadmap to full power in these locations, we continue to be positioned to meet the Pan Asia customer demand for scalable, AI-ready data center capacity built by an experienced, world-class team.”

Singapore-headquartered PDG has a pan-Asia data center portfolio in six countries – Singapore, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia. The company serves AI and cloud needs of some of the world’s largest technology companies across all these markets. The 500 MW of land and power in Malaysia, India and Indonesia, further deepens the company’s strategic partnership with hyperscalers for their AI infrastructure expansion and will drive a USD 5 billion investment program for PDG.
