Oracle Corporation and SoftBank Corp. (SoftBank) have announced that they are collaborating to provide sovereign cloud and AI services to organizations in Japan.
In a press release, SoftBank revealed that to support critical infrastructure sectors, it will launch its new Cloud PF Type A, a suite of its own proprietary cloud and AI services powered by Oracle Alloy for the Japanese market. AI services will be introduced in phases, driving innovation and growth across Japan’s digital economy.
“By integrating advanced technologies such as generative AI and high-performance GPUs, we will continue to address the diverse needs of our customers, empowering them to innovate, stay competitive, and drive Japan’s digital transformation,” said Hayato Sakurai, executive vice president, SoftBank Corp.
“Oracle Alloy enables SoftBank to enhance its services by building and offering a new set of services based on the latest Oracle cloud, AI, and sovereign capabilities,” said Scott Twaddle, senior vice president, product and industries, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with SoftBank and accelerating the digital transformation of organizations in Japan.”

SoftBank will deploy Oracle Alloy to build an advanced cloud infrastructure in its eastern and western Japan data centers, ensuring that data and systems are fully managed and operated within Japan. The service is scheduled to launch in the eastern Japan data center in April 2026, followed by the western Japan data center in October 2026.
