Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp (NTT) is exploring the possibility of listing a data center real estate investment trust (REIT) in Singapore. According to sources familiar with the matter, the company could raise up to US$1 billion through this initial public offering (IPO).
The proposed REIT would likely include data center assets valued between US$2 billion and US$3 billion. A listing could potentially take place as early as late 2025, subject to market conditions and regulatory approvals.
NTT has been working with financial advisors to identify suitable data centers for inclusion in the REIT and develop the listing plans. However, the company has stressed that the decision to proceed with the offering remains under consideration.
If successful, the NTT data center REIT would be one of the largest IPOs in Singapore since 2017. The city-state has seen a significant decline in IPO activity this year, with only US$19.5 million raised through a single listing.
The move aligns with NTT’s strategy to expand its global data center footprint and capitalize on the growing demand for data center capacity. The company’s extensive network spans over 20 countries worldwide.
