Samsung, a South Korean multinational electronics corporation, has announced that NTT East, a Japanese telecom operator, is using its 5G networking equipment for the company’s private 5G network. This will improve connectivity and open up a variety of use cases for many companies in a variety of industries in Japan.
Samsung Electronics was chosen by NTT East to build its private 5G network in March 2022. The ability to adapt Samsung’s 5G technology and network solutions for the clients of NTT East has been the subject of several testing and demonstrations by both NTT East and Samsung. Finally, this resulted in the commercialization’s success.
According to Satoshi Iwao, Vice President and Head of the Network Division at Samsung Electronics Japan, Samsung’s complete 5G network solutions provide the capabilities needed to satisfy each enterprise’s particular needs. They therefore anticipate continuing their collaboration with NTT East to deliver improved connectivity to drive next-generation technologies that aid companies in creating a smarter future.
Moreover, Samsung’s 5G network solutions benefit a wide range of businesses in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, telecommunications, agriculture, automotive, construction, education, and healthcare.
Apart from Japan, Samsung also deploys its 5G private network solutions in South Korea and the US. The first private 5G network rollout in Korea was carried out at Naver’s new headquarters with the assistance of Samsung. While in the US, Samsung offered CBRS solutions to connect universities and other businesses and 5G FWA solutions to increase coverage in rural areas.
