Tencent Cloud secures distributed database deal with Indonesian bank

Tencent Cloud has secured a deal with Bank Neo Commerce (BNC) in Indonesia to provide its financial-certificated infrastructure, Tencent Distributed Database (TDSQL).

This marks the first overseas deployment of the scalable and distributed TDSQL.

“Digital transformation is becoming even more essential now that nearly all aspects of our daily lives have gone online, and it is the perfect time for Indonesia’s financial services industry to further boost the way they serve their clients,” said Poshu Yeung, the Vice President of Tencent International Business Group.

BNC was established in 1990, and is now the leading digital bank in Indonesia.

“We look forward to helping BNC open up more avenues to serve Indonesia even better through the cutting-edge technology provided by TDSQL. We believe that many more internet-based financial businesses in the country would be able to sustain their development and capture new opportunities without hindrance in technology,” added Mr. Yeung.

The TDSQL is offered in both public and private clouds to over 600 governmental and organisational customers in China, earning many of them international certifications like various ISOs, Trusted Cloud, Information Security Protection Levels, and CSA STAR.

“We are delighted to welcome Tencent Cloud in bringing TDSQL into BNC’s new core system, which is in time with our move to boost our business through financial technology,” said Tjandra Gunawan, the President Director of BNC.

TDSQL is a distributed database solution by Tencent brought together with digital banking products from Sunline to address digital transformation challenges like business upgrades, slow system response and lack of internet operational tools.
