NAVER, Brookfield and NVIDIA have expanded plans for a sovereign AI infrastructure project in South Korea, increasing the planned capacity of an AI factory deployment from 55 MW to 200 MW.
The expansion was announced during South Korean President Jae Myung Lee’s visit to San Francisco for an AI summit. The facility will be built using the NVIDIA DSX platform at NAVER’s GAK Sejong hyperscale data center in Sejong, South Korea.
Under the agreement, Brookfield will provide up to US$ 9 billion as the exclusive capital partner, NVIDIA will invest US$ 1 billion, and NAVER will contribute the remaining funding thus the project has a total planned investment of US$ 10 billion according to Naver press release.

The project is intended to support a longer-term plan to develop gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure for enterprises, industries, government organisations and AI cloud customers. Through this expansion the infrastructure will provide AI developers in South Korea and the United States with production-scale computing capacity for developing AI models, agents and AI-powered services.
