National Telecoms Public Company Limited (NT) and Evolution DC Thailand Company Limited (EDC), a joint venture between Central Pattana (CPN) and Evolution Data Centres, have inked a collaborative agreement to advance Thailand’s digital infrastructure and propel the nation towards becoming a pivotal ASEAN Digital Hub.
Mr. Seikson Mitkasem, Senior Executive Vice President (Marketing and Products) of NT, emphasized that this strategic partnership aims to deliver comprehensive data exchange and connectivity services, fortifying Thailand’s telecommunications sector.
In a parallel statement, Mr. Phoom Chirathivat, Head of Hotel and Alternative Investments at CPN, expressed the belief that the collaboration with NT will bolster CPN’s business ecosystem, ensuring strength and sustainability.
He highlighted the importance of NT’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure readiness in supporting the data center business, facilitating connections with network service providers, and reaching large corporate customers.
Mr. Phoom Chirathivat also outlined plans for the development of a new data center in Bangkok, emphasizing the selection of a location with potential, a conducive environment, high security, and proximity to reliable sources of electrical energy.
The joint venture with EDC is expected to transform CPN’s data center into a forward-looking business model, contributing to the modern data economy era and benefiting the nation by attracting foreign investment and supporting digital transformation in various sectors.
Furthering the perspective, Mr. Darren Webb, CEO of Evolution Data Centres, highlighted the comprehensive fiber connectivity of their data center project in Bangkok, facilitated by NT.
He emphasized the significance of the collaboration among all three parties in propelling Thailand towards its 4.0 digital transformation, fostering numerous benefits, improving communications, and efficiently enabling digital transformation across various sectors.
