MSFusion Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement with Crescendo Corporation Bhd to purchase 52.54 freehold land to develop a data center, according to a filing last Friday by Crescendo. The land, located in Kota Tinggi, Johor, was purchased for RM263.2 million (US$62.3 million) which valued it at RM115 per sq ft. The purchase is subject to approvals from relevant authorities for the development of a data center.

According to the agreement, the land has already obtained power allocation of 300MW from Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s national electricity company, and water allocation of 1.06 million litres per day from Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd, Johor state’s sole water operator.

According to sources, MS Fusion is a subsidiary of  Megaspeed International Pte Ltd which has an office in Singapore. w.media has reached out to Megaspeed for comment.

According to reports, Crescendo has to date (including this deal) sold land in Johor for a total of RM1.3 billion over the last three years – all to data center players.
