Madhya Pradesh government has introduced a new IT policy offering incentives (sops) to data centers, a move to attract investment in the IT sector and promote digital infrastructure in the state. The draft of IT/TeS/esdm policy has led to special emphasis on attracting investments from DC and infrastructure developers, says a source from MP state electronics development corporation. The incentives include tax benefits, subsidies, infrastructure support, and other favorable conditions to encourage businesses to set up data centers in the region. This, in turn, can lead to job creation, economic growth, and technological advancements in the state.
According to MP state IT policy 2023, a minimum of 60% of the total IT investment area will be used for IT operations and the balance of 40% can be used for ancillary use and support services. The area so developed should have the facility to create at least 350 jobs per acre.
