Microsoft and G42 Expand Collaboration to Advance AI and Cloud Technology in the UAE

Microsoft is deepening its partnership with G42, an AI and cloud computing company in Abu Dhabi, to enhance AI technology and promote cloud infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This collaboration allows the UAE’s public sector and various industries to access cloud technology and AI capabilities through Microsoft’s Azure platform. Together, they aim to develop innovative AI solutions tailored to key sectors such as energy, healthcare, sustainability, and important national projects like the upcoming COP28 conference in the UAE.

Microsoft has plans to contribute more than $39 billion to the UAE’s economy and generate approximately 100,000 jobs over the next four years through its cloud services, as reported recent report. The UAE’s digital economy is to grow significantly, projected to reach over $140 billion by 2031, a substantial increase from the current $38 billion, as outlined in a Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy report.

In April, the UAE cabinet approved a Digital Economy Strategy comprising more than 30 programs and initiatives across six key sectors and five emerging areas of growth. The strategy aims to double the digital economy’s contribution to the country’s GDP from 9.7% to 19.4% within a decade.

Furthermore, the UAE recently partnered with Mastercard to enhance AI capabilities and readiness in Dubai.
