Meralco Subsidiary to Power the Largest Hyperscale Data Center in the Philippines

Meralco Energy, Inc. (MSERV), a subsidiary of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has been selected to power ST Telemedia Global Data Centres’ (STT GDC Philippines) hyperscale data center in Fairview, Quezon City.

This partnership extends beyond just providing electricity. According to Pierre San Diego, STT GDC Philippines’ Head of Design and Construction, it signifies a shared vision for a transformative digital future that unlocks innovation and growth across the nation.

MSERV is prepared to deliver more than just power. Ronald Torres, MSERV President and CEO, assures they will provide customized energy efficiency solutions to meet the demands of STT GDC Philippines’ facility. Torres emphasizes their commitment to the partnership, stating, “Together, we are not just providers of data center services but digital enablers towards a progressive future.”

This collaboration aligns with the government’s push for clean energy use in data centers, which require significant power for operation. Hyperscale data centers, known for their large size and immense energy needs, provide critical data storage and applications for businesses.
