Meeza signs US$ 96 million deal to utilize upcoming 4 MW DC expansion

MEEZA QSTP-LLC (Public), a managed IT services and data center provider from Qatar, has announced the signing of a strategic long-term agreement with a global hyper-scaler, to utilize MEEZA’s newly announced 4 MW data centre expansion.

While the name of the hyperscaler has not been revealed, in a press release, the company said that the total contract value exceeds QAR 350 million (US$ 96 million), and spans a period of more than 10 years. MEEZA, established at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), offers managed IT services, data centre services, cloud services, and IT security services, in addition to expertise in Smart Cities solutions and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“This agreement reflects our firm commitment of enhancing digital capabilities across key sectors such as Government Sector, financial services, education, healthcare and smart cities,” said Mohamed Ali Al-Ghaithani, Chief Executive Officer of MEEZA, adding. “It also supports a wide range of advanced solutions in the areas of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, cloud services and cybersecurity.”

The additional 4 MW capacity will be integrated into MEEZA’s network of data centres, aiming to deliver reliability, scalability and energy efficiency. This expansion aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the recently launched Digital Agenda 2030. According to Arizton Intelligence, Qatar’s data center market was US$ 264 million in 2022, and is expected to reach US$ 418.5 million by 2028, growing at a Compounded Average Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.98 percent during the forecast period.
