Malaysia has emerged as the third-fastest country in the world in terms of 5G network speeds as of September 2023, according to the recent report released by Internet access and performance analytics platform Ookla.

Malaysia’s 5G network boasts an impressive median speed of 485.25Mbps for downloads, positioning it behind only the United Arab Emirates (592.01Mbps) and South Korea (507.59Mbps).

In comparison to its neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, Malaysia stands at the forefront, outpacing Singapore with 338.36Mbps, Thailand with 141.65Mbps, and the Philippines with 124.58Mbps in terms of 5G speeds.

Malaysia is establishing itself as one of the global leaders in 5G connectivity through its high-speed networks. The report published by OpenSignal reveals that Malaysia has made substantial improvements in its 5G network experience.

With an increasing number of 5G deployments and upgrades, Malaysia has witnessed a surge in average 5G download speeds and lower latency.

With the high-speed 5G networks in the country, it will significantly contribute to the surge in data center usage across Malaysia. With the rapid expansion of 5G technology, data centers play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless connectivity, enabling faster data processing, and supporting various applications and services that rely on robust network infrastructure.
