Major data center service providers in Thailand joined forces to officially establish the Thailand Data Centre Council (TDCC) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Comprising industry leaders such as AIMS Data Centre, Evolution DC, NTT Global Data Centers, STT GDC Thailand, and Telehouse, the TDCC is a pioneering strategic alliance aimed at advancing Thailand’s digital infrastructure.

Built on six key objectives, the TDCC will serve as a representative body, provide regulatory advocacy, support international business expansion, foster professional development, advocate ethical practices, and contribute to overall industry development.

The MOU signing signifies a significant milestone for the TDCC, whose primary goal is to position the data center sector as a mission-critical industry and establish Thailand as the data center hub of Southeast Asia.

Thailand’s strategic location and supportive digital policies have attracted investments, with Statista projecting the country’s data center market revenue to rise from USD 2.06 billion in 2023 to USD 2.83 billion within five years.

The TDCC envisions contributing to the long-term development of Thailand’s digital economy by adhering to world-class standards, fostering professional skills, and promoting ethical business operations in collaboration with public and private agencies.

Members of the TDCC will actively participate in addressing legal and regulatory issues related to the data center industry, providing valuable input to relevant public agencies.

Two out of these five data center companies, specifically NTT Global Data Centers and STT GDC Thailand, are also part of the founding members of Asia-Pacific Data Centre Association (APDCA) that was launched recently. It is a pioneering trade association group dedicated to representing the shared interests of the data center industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
