Reliance Jio announced the launch of its True 5G services in 16 more cities across the country. The total number of cities to have this service is 134 now.

According to a company statement, its True 5G services have been expanded to Kakinada, Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), Silchar (Assam), Davanagere, Shivamogga, Bidar, Hospet, Gadag-Betageri (Karnataka), Malappuram, Palakkad Kottayam, Kannur (Kerala), Tiruppur (Tamil Nadu), Nizamabad, Khammam (Telangana), and Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh).

Reliance Jio has become the first and the only operator to launch 5G services in the majority of these cities. Jio users in these cities will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, to experience Unlimited Data at up to 1 Gbps+ speeds, at no additional cost.

“We are proud to roll out Jio True 5G services in 16 additional cities across seven states, taking the total count to 134 cities. We have stepped up the speed and intensity of True 5G roll-out across the nation because we want every Jio user to enjoy the transformational benefits of Jio True 5G technology in the new year 2023. These newly launched True 5G cities were important tourism and commerce destinations as well as key education hubs of our country,”said a Jio spokesperson.

The company said with the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, the consumers of the region would not just get the best telecommunication network and infinite growth opportunities in e-governance, education, automation and artificial intelligence, among others.

As per the company, Jio True 5G has a three-fold advantage because it has stand-alone 5G architecture with an advanced 5G network with zero dependencies on 4G network, largest mix of 5G spectrum across 700MHz, 3500MHz and 26GHz bands, and Carrier Aggregation that combines 5G frequencies into a single robust “data highway.”

Earlier this year ‘Jio True 5G’ services started in Odisha, It was launched by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Honourable Union Minister of Communications, Railways, Electronics & Information Technology in the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan.
