Infinaxis Data Centre Platform Celebrates Groundbreaking for Data Center in Cyberjaya

Infinaxis Data Centre Platform, a collaborative effort involving a fund managed by Gaw Capital Partners and its associates, marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its inaugural data center project—Infinaxis Data Centre, located within the technology hub of Cyberjaya.

Established in February 2023, Infinaxis Data Centre Platform was created to make strategic investments in brand-new assets across key markets in Southeast Asia, with the primary objective of establishing a collection of Tier-3 certified data center assets.

Located in Cyberjaya, the initial investment encompasses two undeveloped sites, collectively spanning an impressive 12,490 square meters. The business strategy involves the development of a 12 MW IT Load IDC facility, boasting a gross floor area of 17,427 square meters on one of these sites.

Anticipated completion of construction is slated for the second quarter of 2025, with potential plans to double the IT capacity in the future by developing the second site as an expansion location.

Prior to the commencement of construction, more than 80% of the phase one space has been secured through signed leases and customer letters of intent, leaving the remaining space available for lease to wholesale colocation clients.

Malaysia has secured its position as a front runner in the global data center sector, most notably in Southeast Asia, with a projected growth of data center market size estimated at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.15% between the period of 2022 to 2027.

In line with this growth, Cyberjaya has emerged as a prominent destination for data center development in recent years as it became known as the country’s first smart city and a hub for technology and innovation.
