Indonesia’s Minister of Communications and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi, recently announced the country’s willingness to welcome investment partnerships aimed at advancing 5G digital connectivity.
Minister Setiadi emphasized that these investments could originate from any source and are anticipated to accelerate Indonesia’s ongoing national digital transformation initiative, which has been in progress since 2021.
In addition, he expressed the government’s readiness to collaborate with industry leaders like China Mobile, as well as other global and domestic stakeholders. As of early September 2023, 5G networks have been rolled out in only 49 Indonesian cities, leaving considerable room for expansion and development, as stated by Minister Setiadi.
Furthermore, Minister Setiadi outlined the government’s intentions to leverage 5G technology as a cornerstone for catalyzing a digital revolution across various industrial sectors, including smart underground mining, advanced manufacturing, and precision surgical procedures.
To optimize these development efforts, Indonesia has opened up opportunities for diverse entities to exchange knowledge, best practices, and collectively address the challenges associated with the implementation of 5G technology.
