India to train 8m 5G skilled personnel by 2025

India has set an ambitious goal of training 8 million 5 G-skilled individuals by 2025. The deployment of 5G networks requires a skilled workforce capable of managing and maintaining the infrastructure, developing applications and services, and addressing the various challenges associated with this emerging technology.

To meet this target, India would need to undertake a comprehensive and coordinated approach involving various stakeholders, including the government, educational institutions, industry bodies, and private sector companies. IT and banking and financial services are identified as the primary beneficiaries of 5G Says a survey by a staffing firm. The survey also hints that jobs to increase by 61% to 80% within the first year of 5G implementation.

This skilled workforce is likely to play a crucial role in driving India’s digital growth and positioning the country as a leader in 5G technology.

Like the telecom industry data center sectors are also facing challenges as far as the workforce is concerned. According to a global data center survey, the critical infrastructure industry is enjoying widespread growth while adapting to increasing complexity and challenges such as evolving efficiency and sustainability requirements, rising outage costs, ongoing workforce shortage, supply chain interruptions, and other issues. The findings pointed out that staffing shortages continue and AI is not expected to reduce requirements in the near future. As the sector continues to grow, the shortage of qualified data center professionals continues.
