Hyperscale data centre provider Colt has said that the development of its Osaka data centre is well underway.
“Our Osaka Keihanna data centre is well underway. We’ve recently achieved our watertight milestone and are in the process of completing the façade for this 45MW hyperscale facility,” the company said in a LinkedIn post. Colt Osaka Keihanna Data Centre is located in Keihanna, which can be accessed within 60 minutes from Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.
It is purpose-designed to meet the high security needs of customers with mission-critical data, Colt Osaka Keihanna Data Centre is a base-isolation building, allowing the building to withstand major earthquakes of up to level 7 on the Japanese earthquake intensity level, the company said. Following the 2011 earthquake in Japan, many companies realised the benefit of geographically dispersed sites and so there is a large demand for data centres near Osaka as an integral part of disaster recovery plans.
Colt’s data centres throughout the Asia Pacific region are a key part of Colt’s specialised solutions, which combines data centre services with an extensive range of network services, and robust cloud solutions to enable multinational customers to establish IT service hubs that support their business in Asia.
The security measures implemented at Colt Osaka Keihanna Data Centre can offer high security measures and provides flexible solutions to businesses looking to thrive in a fast-moving and constantly evolving business market.
Some of the security features include surveillance camera monitoring, IC card verifications, and Biometric authentication systems.
