Huawei has introduced a synergy ecosystem between cloud, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things in Thailand to boost digital transformation in the country.

With Thailand being a key market for the tech giant, Huawei’s synergy ecosystem, particularly its cloud presence, will significantly advance the quality of tech services offered in Thailand, attracting more foreign investment.

Piyatida Itiravivongs, President of Huawei Thailand’s Cloud Business Department, said this synergic integration of cloud, AI, and IoT will help support the development of smart cities across the country.

“The joint efforts between the public and private sector to drive technological development is the key reason why Thailand has become one of the leaders in technological innovation adoption in Asean,” said Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Thailand.

The introduction of this new ecosystem is in line with Huawei’s strategy of prioritising cloud computing in Thailand.

Huawei’s growing presence in Thailand

Huawei Cloud is the only tech giant that has data centers in Thailand. Huawei Cloud currently provides public and hybrid cloud services to clients from a wide range of industries in the country, including banking, retail, and manufacturing.

“With such a comprehensive product portfolio, Huawei will be able to deliver a complete end-to-end ecosystem, covering both hardware and software, while helping the Thai industry further develop at an accelerated pace towards a ‘Smart Industry’,” continued Mr. Deng.

Thailand’s market demand also means that all four business categories in Huawei’s range of products and services — carrier, enterprise, consumers, and cloud & AI — are offered.

“Another advantage of the data center being located in Thailand is the higher speed of data transactions, with latency under 10 milliseconds, aligned and fully compatible with the development of Thailand’s new network infrastructure speed levels,” said Surasak Wanichwatphibun, the CTO of Huawei Thailand’s Cloud Business Department.

Cloud in Thailand: a ripple effect

On Thailand’s cloud growth, Thailand’s cloud service market is expected to grow 400% over the next three to five years, according to IT research firm IDC.

Huawei’s Global Industry Vision Report projects a 100% adoption of cloud technology among business organisations all around the world by 2025.

If more businesses in Thailand shift to the cloud, the positive impacts on digital transformation would be significant. More cloud data means more data centers, and as data centers are being built left, right and center in Thailand, Huawei’s synergy ecosystem in Thailand would prove to be immensely beneficial to the country in years to come.
