Malaysian tech services provider HeiTech Padu Berhad has announced the launch of a new Security Operation Centre as-a-service (SOCaaS) in partnership with global cybersecurity company RSA Security.
“We are excited to roll out these offerings to the Malaysian market,” said HeiTech Padu Executive Vice President, Abdul Halim Md Lassin.
Securing Malaysia’s Future
The new SOCaas, named NexGen SIEM, will be powered by RSA Security’s NetWitness platform, an industry leading Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service suite.
NextGen will be launched on Secure-X, HeiTech Padu’s existing SIEM platform.
“HeiTech Padu’s experience in the local cybersecurity industry, combined with the expertise from RSA Security, positions Secure-X’s NexGen SIEM as a game-changer in managing security in today’s increasingly complex business environment,” said Mr. Halim.
Secure-X is a customised product suite, allowing businesses to toggle the suite’s licensing and subscription models according to the organisation’s size and preferences. This needs-based, subscription model approach is said to reduce the overall cost of ownership.
The NexGen SIEM service will be targeted at mid-tier organisations from both the private and public sector with 500 to 1,000 users as well as data-sensitive segments like banking.
“The reality today is that as a business grows, so does its dependency on technology,” said Charles Lim, General Manager, South East Asia & Greater China Region, RSA Security.
RSA Security’s expansion in the Malaysian market would strengthen the Malaysian cybersecurity landscape with healthy competition, overall contributing to a more conducive cybersecurity ecosystem.
“As advocates of digital transformation ourselves, teaming up with HeiTech Padu signifies our commitment and dedication to bring about change in how Malaysian businesses manage risk,” added Mr. Lim.
Over the past few months, Malaysia has seen a dramatic increase in cyber attacks due to COVID-19 forcing digitally underprepared businesses online. To mitigate this risk, HeiTech Padu also signed an agreement with CyberSecurity Malaysia and RSA Security to explore future collaborations.
“This event is a landmark of the progress of its information security services offerings where CyberSecurtiy Malaysia assists to build its capacity and capability,” said CyberSecurity Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab.
While HeiTech Padu has been collaborating with CyberSecurity Malaysia for quite some time, this is the first collaboration between HeiTech Padu and RSA Security.
