Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has recently set up a 15-member strong task force to expedite regulatory approvals and compliance fulfilment for the US$ 2 billion SGI-HCM AI data center campus to be co-developed by Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation and its foreign partner, Accelerated Infrastructure Capital (AIC).
Led by Lam Dinh Thang, director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, the task force also included representatives from Kinh Bac City, AIC, and Northwest Saigon City Development Corporation. AIC is a Hong Kong- and London-based data centre infrastructure investor.
Last November, w.media reported that Kinh Bac, AIC, and VietinBank had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop the SGI-HCM Campus, a 200MW AI data centre complex spanning 10 hectares in Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City. The first phase is expected to come online by end 2027 with power infrastructure in place.
