Steve Helvie

VP of Channel | Open Compute Project

Steve is currently the VP of Channel for the Open Compute Project (OCP).  In this role he helps to educate organisations on the benefits of open hardware designs and the value of “community-driven” engineering for the data centre. He works closely with Solution Providers and Manufacturers to help organisations adopt Open
Compute across all regions and segments of the market.

Steve spent the last 14 years living and working in Asia holding various Leadership and Channel Development roles for companies like Microsoft and Rackspace. He recently moved to London last year to focus on building the EMEA business.

Currently the VP of Channel for the Open Compute Project (OCP) – an open source project started by Facebook in 2011 focused on high efficiency data centre infrastructure. In this role I help to educate organisations on the benefits of open hardware designs, the value of “community-driven” engineering and how to apply the circular economy in the re-purposing of hyperscale data centre infrastructure for enterprises.

Quan Heng

Chief of Staff | Horangi Cybersecurity

Quan Heng is the Chief of Staff at Horangi Cybersecurity. Prior to joining Horangi, he was a founder of a behavioral analytics company, and worked with PricewaterHouseCoopers in cybersecurity consultancy. Quan Heng works with the technology teams in Horangi to ensure businesses are free to innovate without fear, and for cybersecurity to be aligned to business strategy.

Dr Seri Lee

CTO | ERS

Dr. Lee joined ERS in 2018, after his retirement as Associate Professor in NTU.
Dr. Lee has 30 years of experience in education, leadership, strategy and execution of
engineering programs with a main focus on research and development of new technologies and
solutions for electronics cooling in the field of thermo-mechanical science and renewable
energy. He has an extensive technical background and operation management experiences
with intense interest in education and environmental product strategy.
Dr. Lee has also held positions with Pipeline Micro, Inc., Nextreme Thermal Solutions, Intel
Corporation, Aavid Thermal Technologies, and the University of Waterloo. He also taught for a
number of years at the Washington State University as Adjunct Professor. Dr. Lee has
published more than 60 technical papers and holds 16 US and international patents covering a
wide range of thermal issues in electronics. He lectured numerous professional courses at
various institutions and conferences, including the ASME Satellite Course on Commercial
Application of Heat Sinks. Dr. Lee served as the General Chair for the 1998 IEEE SemiTherm
International Symposium, and he received the best paper award in 2004 from the ASME Journal
of Heat Transfer Division.

Luca Melluso

AirTrunk is a leading hyperscale data centre operator in the Asia-Pacific region. The pioneer of hyperscale data centres in Australia, AirTrunk recently announced the development of a 60MW+ facility in Singapore; the country’s largest neutral data centre (by megawatts).

Terence Siau

CEO/Co-Founder | TINDO Pte Ltd

Mr Terence Siau co-founded TINDO Pte Ltd in 2013 and is dedicated in providing cybersecurity solutions and services in the ASEAN region.

He has over 20 years of technical, business and sales experience in the information technology sector, of which 15 years was in cyber security.

His in-depth knowledge in information technology and vast experience in direct selling and channels operations has developed his ability to work with individuals from all industries, backgrounds and most instrumental in generating the pervasiveness of TINDO in ASEAN.

Prior to TINDO, Terence was the Director of ASEAN Sales in CyberArk Software Ltd. He had previously worked in organizations such as Check Point Software, Sony, Singapore Computer Systems, CSA Automated and Quantiq International.

From 2013 to 2019, Terence was the BOD of Cloud Security Alliance Singapore chapter. In 2018, Terence joined SGTECH Cyber Security Chapter. Currently, Terence is also the GM of Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + International Studies (CSCIS) Singapore chapter. Terence holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology, where he majored in Data Communications.

Prof Tan Rui

Assistant Professor | NTU

Prof Tan Rui is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He has received multiple research awards including Best Paper Award from ACM/IEEE IPSN 2017, CPSR-SG 2017, Distinguished TPC Member of INFOCOM 2017 etc. His current projects include resilient cyber-physical systems by advanced sensing and computing. He is also working on a proof-of-concept for tropical data centres.

Shehara Viswanathan

Shehara is a technology thought leader and industry specialist who has over 18 years of experience in business-driven digital solutions, with a strong focus on cloud and applications.
Throughout her career, she has delivered customer-centric strategic solutions that produce significant revenue growth in new markets across Multi-National Corporations, Enterprise, Government, SMB and Service Provider sectors. Shehara has a track record of driving change in companies to build capability across multiple business units to adopt and take new technology to market from inception. She has a wealth of experience in driving change within businesses to adopt a variety of technology capability as well as Design Thinking, Agile and Rapid Delivery frameworks.

At Cisco Shehara is a Lead Advisor in Asia-Pacific, Japan, and China. She works with customers to optimize their cloud and digital environments, helping them build technology strategies and program development, process improvements and changes, toolset development, digital services and transformation. She focuses on helping customer solve their business problems in unique and effective ways. Shehara is also the Treasurer of the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA), and a frequent speaker and panel member at Technology and Digital Thought Leadership events.
Prior to Cisco, she spent nearly a decade working with Telstra where she spearheaded the global strategy and delivered a market leading and unique offering in Asia’s highly competitive cloud market. In recognition of her strategy and execution, Telstra was recognized and awarded multiple hybrid multi-cloud awards and was named by Gartner as a Challenger in the regional Managed Cloud market.
Her previous roles included Planning and Strategy Manager at SingTel/Optus, and Senior Product Manager at Macquarie Telecom. Working in Data Centre, Storage, Security, Managed Hosting, and Application roles.
She is also driven to build awareness for women in technology, and she is committed to upskill and train
people of all ages on the concepts and opportunities available. Shehara voluntarily teaches cloud computing, artificial intelligence and blockchain at the Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations IT Hub.

Raju Chellam

Theo Nasser

Chief Executive Officer | Right-Hand Cybersecurity

Theo is the CEO and Co-Founder at Right-Hand Cybersecurity. Theo is originally from Silicon Valley, but has been based in APAC across Singapore, Japan, and Australia since 2014. Prior to founding Right-Hand, Theo worked at FireEye as an APAC Business Development Manager and also SonicWall as an APAC Sales Director. Mike Chen Chun-Chieh

Mike studied at National Chiao Tung University in HsinChu, Taiwan, which is the branch college of
Chiao Tung University in Shang-Hai and Xi-An, and graduated as Bachelor of Electronic and
Communication Engineering in 2004 and Master of Communication Engineering in 2006.

In 2007, he joined Mediatek in Taiwan, the top 2 biggest IC design house over the world and was
responsible for the DSP (digital signal processor) architecture and GPS algorithm. This product is
successfully adopted by Garmin and other reputable GPS Navigators.

In 2009, he was responsible for RF digital Infrastructure for a 4-in-1 IC (WiFi + Bluetooth + GPS +
FM). His RF digital infrastructure contributed the most power saving GPS IC and publish an ISSCC
journal paper, which is the most reputable journal in IC industry.

In 2010, he joined WTI to build marketing team for WinBus Busduct. Nowadays, WinBus is already
a leader of busbar trunking system in global market. This product has been accepted globally and
successfully installed in various prestigious projects in Taiwan, Singapore as well as around the
world. He will continue to expand this success with his partners to more customers and countries.

Eran Kessel

Tom Duncan

With over 9 years of experience in all commercial aspects of the data center asset class, Tom specialises in strategic management of global data center portfolios and the transaction management of complex acquisitions in global markets with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region.

Responsible for managing and leading Data Center Solutions account and transaction teams, Tom has brokered over 150 acquisitions across more than 40 countries globally. Kok Chye Ong

Head of Global Strategy and Investments | Keppel Data Centres

Kok Chye is the Head of Global Strategy and Investments for Keppel Data Centers, a regional data center owner and operator with over 20 data centers spread across APAC and EMEA region.  He has over 20 years of international experience in telecoms, data center and submarine cable development projects.

Kok Chye joined Keppel in 2011 as senior finance manager and went on to assume the data center investment role in 2014.  Since then, he has helped to grow the company’s data center presence in APAC and EMEA as well as expanding into new markets such as Netherlands, Germany and Indonesia.  Before that, Kok Chye spent more than 10 years in a number of finance and management roles at SingTel, one of Asia’s leading telecommunications company.

Kok Chye holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and graduated from the Sloan Fellows program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business with a Master of Science in Management.

 

Chang Cho

Board Member | Korea Data Center Council

Chang is the founder of Onion Software, a leading BMS(Building Management System) and DCIM(Data Center Infrastructure Management) solution provider in Korea over a decade. Onion Software, founded in 2000, is well known in the Korean data center industry as a unified BMS & DCIM player for most major large scale data centers including Korea Telecom, SK Telecom, LG U+, Samsung, Lotte and POSCO.

Along with 18+ years of data center experience, Chang has profound knowledge of data center construction and operation. He is a co-founder and a board member of KDCC (Korea Data Center Council), non-profit independent organization representing Korea data center industry with over 50 member companies.

He is, also, a technical board member of Green Data Center Certificate which is an organization authorized by the Korean government to bestow awards upon energy efficient data centers in the country. He has been investigated PUE and architecture almost every big data center in Korea as a judge for certificate award.

Chang has also been leading many Korea government R&D projects for innovative and disruptive data center technologies. In 2017, he got an award for the most successful R&D accomplishment from ‘Ministry of Science and ICT’.

Chang started his career in 1991 as a software engineer after graduating from Seoul National University with a master degree of computer science. After nearly 10 years’ experience as a software engineer, he moved to HP Korea as a senior consultant in 1999. He jumped on the bandwagon of the IT startup rush in Korea with a monitoring software for IT devices that conducted health checks. It was transformed and evolved into BMS and DCIM after several years as requirements for M&E infra monitoring has risen up.

In August 2017, he established Onion Technology Pte Ltd in Singapore to expand business into Singapore and the SE Asia market. He is CEO of both Korea and Singapore companies, staying both Asia’s top-tier cities half and half.

Dr. Tan Kian Hua

Jeffrey Tay

Jeffrey is a vastly experienced IT executive with 25 years in IT and 20 years in Asia in senior leadership
roles with some of the best global IT service companies evolving around Data Centre , Cloud and big
Data .

Worked for MNC such as IBM , Oracle , GE , Polycom , Colt and also taken on start up role for
successfully establishing first presence in Asia for many foreign groups from Israel , Europe and US .
Jeffrey has extensive networking and active in many DC , Cloud and big data group and consortium in
China and North Asia and this has created leverages for many senior level connections and invited to
chair and be on panel for many IDC salon and forums for many years as well .

Jeffrey is on direct C level relations with big group such as Legan (One Asia ), Iadvantage , Colt , China
Mobile , China Teleocm , Tencent , Huawei , Hutchison , SingTel , Starhub and other providers in North
Asia , namely HK , Taiwan and Japan other than China itself . Also Jeffrey has worked closely with international group such as DCD , Closer Still and W media to try to bridge them into China and proposing a focus on China entity more and not only the usual international brands.

Jeffrey is also working on an initiative with CDCC China and many design institute in China to have them come to Singapore to share their design standard and methodology as China has the most aggressive and diverse environment due to weather and terrain and also governing laws and human resource considerations . Currently , Jeffrey is with Iconz Webvisions (iWV) newly appointed as VP sales and marketing from its new owner to spear head the change in the organization to grow in the new era of Cloud enabled platform and its possible growth in the region leveraging a lot of China ‘s customer branching out into Asean .

Yongsuk Choi

Director, Infrastructure - APAC | Facebook

Yongsuk Choi is the Director for Infrastructure for Asia-Pacific at Facebook, where he leads the team responsible for the Infrastructure business including development, management, service and partnerships for Data Centers. Before Facebook, Yongsuk spent twelve years at Yahoo!, most recently as Regional Director for Production Operations. Yongsuk received Masters and Bachelors in Electronic Engineering from KyungHee University, Korea.

Gavin Chua

Head of Infra Engagement | Facebook

Gavin leads government, industry, and community engagements to lower regulatory barriers and develop internet investment plans in Asia. He is a member of Facebook’s HQ investment team managing $B infra assets (data centers and submarine cables). Key examples include: FB’s first data center in Singapore/Asia ($1.4B), subsea cable investments across APAC, and tech talent and digital inclusion projects for community impact.

As a co-opted Councillor at SGTech, Gavin contributes to industry development initiatives via its Data Center Committee, and thought leadership related to tech and startup growth in Singapore/Asia. Chris Wong

Mr. Chris Wong is the Senior Facility Manager of Newtech Facilities Management Limited. Eric Cheung

Nimisha Tailor

Nimisha is a competition and regulation specialist with international experience. Having worked in consultancy firms and competition regulators in UK, New Zealand and Singapore, she has a deep understanding of how regulators operate and how markets function. She has led high-profile merger investigations, drafted merger regulation guidelines, assessed complaints of anti-competitive behaviour and advised government agencies on competition matters. As a former Deputy Director, at the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore, Nimisha supervised in-depth market studies on e-commerce and various consumer products. John Lim

Paul Chen
