Dr. Lee Hing Yan

Executive Vice President, APAC | Cloud Security Alliance (CSA)

Hing Yan LEE is Executive Vice President, APAC at the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). He has over 30 years of ICT working experience in both the public and private sectors. He was global director of the CSA STAR program for 6 months in 2017.  Prior to that, he was Director of National Cloud Computing Office at the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) for 9+ years, where he was responsible for the national program for, inter alia, developing the cloud ecosystem, promoting cloud adoption by government agencies and private enterprises, and building a trusted environment (which included developing the Multi-Tier Cloud Security (MTCS) standards and Cloud Outage Incident Response guidelines).

He was previously Deputy Director of National Grid Office at the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), Principal Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research, Director of Knowledge Lab and Deputy Director of Japan-Singapore Artificial Intelligence Centre at the Kent Ridge Digital Labs as well as Deputy Director at Information Technology Institute (the applied R&D arm of the National Computer Board). He oversaw and managed industry collaborations and applied R&D in machine language translation, spoken language dialogue, expert systems, knowledge discovery, data mining, data visualization, and other knowledge-driven efforts.

Hing Yan co-founded two high-tech companies in 2000 and is a technology advisor to a fintech start-up.  He was an adjunct associate professor at the National University of Singapore, served on the School of Digital Media & Infocomm Technology Advisory Committee at the Singapore Polytechnic, Engineering Accreditation Board team member (2014), co-chair of the National Infocomm Competency Framework Technical Committee on Cloud Computing as well as a member of the Cloud Computing Standards Coordinating Task Force of the Singapore Infocomm Standards Committee (ITSC). He was also a member of the NatSteel Corporate R&D Advisory Panel, an advisor/member to the Singapore National Archives Board, and the Australia-Singapore Joint ICT Council.  Hing Yan is a Fellow and former VP of the Cloud Chapter in Singapore Computer Society. He is active in the ITSC working group on MTCS revision, and SingAREN Lightwave Internet Exchange (SLIX 2.0) Steering Committee. He has also undertaken consultancy and research reviews for the  governments of Finland, Israel, Malaysia and Singapore as well as cloud service providers.

He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with PhD and MS degrees in Computer Science.  He previously studied at Imperial College London in the UK where he obtained a BSc (Eng.) with 1st Class Honours in Computing and MSc in Management Science.

Palaniappan Muthuraman

Palaniappan is responsible for business development and operations for Piller in South East Asia, China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. He has been involved in Electrical products for all his career specialising in UPS, Industrial Automation, Drive products and switchgear.

He joined Piller in 2014 and has been instrumental in building the team in this region. He has successfully lead the team to introduce the world’s first Electrically Coupled Diesel UPS with Lithium Ion Battery and also introduced the most reliable IP Bus (Isolated Parallel system) to Malaysia, Korea and Vietnam. With more than 100 years’ experience and a broad product range, Piller can satisfy any requirement at power ranges up to 50MVA in a variety of electrical distribution networks.

Lee Khuan Yew

Head of product | Fave

Khuan Yew is currently the Head of Product at Fave, helping merchants in Southeast Asia to grow their businesses through digital payments and loyalty cashback as well as partner integrations for e-wallets, rewards, marketplace, point-of-sale systems and card terminals.

Prior to Fave, Khuan Yew implemented multiple retail and corporate digital banking products including Malaysia’s top mobile banking and QR payment app at Maybank. He also led the establishment of Malaysia’s first national QR standard and the implementation of national-initiative DuitNow real-time payments across 35 financial institutions with more than 22 million users.

Khuan Yew was a first-class Computer Science scholar from RMIT University and he was a recipient of the Young Maybanker Award in 2017.

Varun Mittal

Global EM Fintech Leader | EY

Varun has been the Global Emerging Markets FinTech Leader since 2018. In this role, he has led the FinTech business as well as managed revenue in 130 countries in emerging markets globally comprising over 100 professionals spread all over the world focused on building FinTech, blockchain, payment, digital bank, regulatory policy, national infrastructure and financial inclusion projects. Equipped with a keen understanding of the diverse and nuanced ASEAN region, he has also managed revenue planning and business development for 10 markets in the region with over 2,000 professionals working within the financial services industry.

Varun joined EY in 2017 as the ASEAN FinTech Leader and he has been a key member of the Asia Pacific FSO practice ever since. He has also led key engagements with financial institutions and central banks across the region, including the likes of MAS and State Bank of Vietnam. Pivotal in go-to-market planning and FinTech sales, Varun has made significant contributions in growing the FSO’s ASEAN accounts. Anthony Hodge

Head for of Governance, Regulatory and Compliance | Standard Chartered Group

Anthony Hodge is currently the Head for of Governance, Regulatory and Compliance within the Cloud Enablement function in Standard Chartered’s Group Technology and Innovation. He has 20 years of experience working within Financial Services and technology, working in the both the UK and Singapore with extensive overseas experience. Over the last six years Anthony has been leading across Cloud programmes and regulatory frameworks with extensive experience in building high performance teams and leading organisational change.

He has previously covered a variety of roles covering multi-domain programme management, infrastructure operations, infrastructure development and engineering, architecture, data centre design and management.

Joel Yarbrough

Joel Yarbrough is the Asia Pacific Vice President for Rapyd, aglobal FinTech-as-a-service platform. He is responsible for leading the company’s value proposition and growth efforts in the region.

Joel brings 26 years of extensive cross-disciplinary experience, having worked in Payments, Technology, Banking, and Management Consulting across continents. Prior to Rapyd, he was Head of Product at Southeast Asia’s largest tech startup Grab, and went on to lead Business and Corporate Development on behalf of GrabPay, the Financial Services arm of Grab. He is also a notable PayPal alumnus, having led Global Product Strategy, APAC Product Management, Large Partner and O2O Solutions during his time at the world’s first digital payments company. Joel was also a founding board member of PayPal’s non-profit and charitable giving fund. Before joining PayPal, Joel held multiple global roles at JPMorgan.



Daryl Pereira

Partner, Head of Cyber Security | KPMG Singapore

Daryl is Partner and Head of the Cyber Security Consulting practice at KPMG in Singapore. He leads a team of over 100 professionals focusing on cyber security, IT risk, outsourcing governance, business continuity, privacy, cyber incident response, and implementation of security architecture. He has over 24 years of consultancy and industry experience helping clients with their strategic change and operations by working at the intersection of business and technology.

Before joining KPMG, Daryl spent 9 years in investment banking in Australia and Singapore where he led various global and regional functions including information security governance. In his last role in Deutsche Bank, Daryl was the global lead for Program Management Office overseeing $3 billion of projects. Prior roles include COO Business Manager for Investment Banking IT, and Regional APAC Head of IT Audit.

Before moving to Singapore in 2004, Daryl was the Head of IT Audit at Westpac Australia, where he re-established the IT Audit function which had been previously outsourced. He commenced his career as an IT Consultant with Big 4 firms in Australia. Daryl is the PastPresident of ISACA Singapore, the international professional association for cyber security and IT risk professionals. He is certified as a CISM, CISA, CRISC, and CPA (Australia), and holds a MBA from Manchester Business School and a Master of Information Technology from the University of Canberra.

Clement Goh

Clement is Chief Executive Officer for Southeast Asia for ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC). In this role, he is responsible for our Southeast Asia data centre operations which includes both Singapore and Thailand.
Clement most recently served as Managing Director for Equinix South Asia where he was responsible for the overall performance of the Singapore IBX centre and the partnership in Indonesia.
