Micah Tan

Micah has more than 20 years’ international experience in disaster recovery, business continuity and crisis management spanning across the consulting, training, banking, securities, and public services sectors

He has provided BCM consulting, training, facilitated Crisis Management Teams’ exercises and IT DR Exercises for the financial industry, government agencies, marine industry, law and conveyancing industry, welfare and children’s homes

Micah is an internationally certified trainer of the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) and have regularly conducted DRII’s courses in Singapore. He is also a senior trainer for the Certification in IT Business Continuity Management (CITBCM) Course administered by the Singapore Computer Society

He was previously the Asia-Pacific Regional Lead in JPMorgan Chase Bank, being responsible for the development and implementation of its resiliency risk management programme across thirteen countries

Micah was also with the Specialist Risk Supervision Department of the Monetary Authority of Singapore where he co-authored the MAS BCM Guidelines. His experience also includes being the Asia-Pacific Business Continuity Manager for ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Micah started his BCM career as a pioneering BCM team member of Overseas Union Bank (OUB) in 1997

At the national level, Micah was involved in the planning and execution of the three inaugural Singapore’s Industry Wide BCM Exercises organised jointly by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and The Association of Banks in Singapore, having received a letter of commendation for his contributions

Micah is an active member of the Singapore Computer Society’s Business Continuity Chapter (BCC) and currently serves as its President.

Glen Duncan

Grant Yabsley

Grant hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Land Economics) from University of Western Sydney and a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University. Andrew Martin

Andrew’s IT career just like most things in his professional life has been far from typical. He worked in the UK for a storage specialist distribution company moving to sales roles in companies like Cheyenne now CA, Veritas, Digital now part of HP and Overland Data as European Solutions Sales Director.

Professor Yunmook Nah

Daniel Michener

Sam Lee

Mohd Fuad Sharuji

Vice President, Operations Control Centre Crisis Director MH370 & MH17 | Malaysia Airlines

I started my career with Malaysia Airlines in 1976 as a Trainee Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, studied in Bedfordshire, England and graduated as an aircraft maintenance engineer in 1981. Since then, I have moved to various departments within the Engineering & Maintenance, and Operations Divisions. After pursuing Masters in Business Administration in 2001, I have further climbed up the ladder to the last position of Vice President, Operations Control Centre of Malaysia Airlines from July 2009 until 31 August 2015. Since then, I have been appointed as the Head of Post-Accident Office for Malaysia Airlines, based in Kuala Lumpur International Airport and have served Malaysia Airlines for the past 41 years.

Whilst I was the Vice President of Operations Control Centre, the most challenging spade of my career took place in 2014. This was when I was appointed as Crisis Director for both the MH370 and MH17 tragedies. More than 1,000 staff, including several of our management team were deployed in both these tragedies at various locations. Leading the crises of such magnitude was a humungous task, but I was privileged to undertake this role, testing our corporate emergency response plans to its full scale. Following these 2 tragedies, I have acquired a wealth of experience and knowledge which was applied to improve the corporate crisis management program, crisis leadership, family assistance plan and the corporate emergency response plans.

I was also privileged to be invited to speak at more than 40 local and International Conferences, Seminars and Forums in 17 different countries in Europe, USA, Asia, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand from November 2014 to February 2018.

In addition, I had also conducted training programs for managerial leadership, crisis management and run drills and exercises with various government and airport agencies. As a former Associate Trainer for Steven Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective Leaders, I have conducted several programs for Malaysia Airlines. I have been invited to facilitate workshops and forums both locally in Malaysia and at AAPA and IATA Conferences abroad.

Wong Ka Vin

Managing Director | DC1st

Ka Vin brings with him over 30 years of Executive Management and leadership roles in the ICT industry. He is the Founder and Managing Director of DC1st Pte Ltd, a Singapore company established in 2017.

Prior to establishing DC1st, Ka Vin served as the MD of 1-Net where he led a major rebranding process, continued to grow its revenue by expanding their customer base and built SEA’s 1st Uptime Tier III DCCF DC in Singapore.

Previously, Ka Vin was the MD for CSF Asia where he was responsible for extending CSF Group DC business into Indonesia through the formation of a JV between PT Cyber CSF with KGN Group. He was responsible for constructing Jakarta’s largest and newest Data Center which was designed for the Telecom and Banking Industry. This is now the NTT Nexcenter DC in Jakarta.

Ka Vin spent 11 years in Singapore Technologies Telemedia where he held key management positions.  He was involved in the early days of ST Telemedia’s growth in the industry, working on M&A and tenders for Telco licences both in Singapore and the region. He headed the team that developed the successful proposal for Starhub Mobile. Ka Vin went on to be one of the 2 prime founders of i-STT Data Centre which subsequently became Equinix, the world’s largest data center operator today. At Equinix, Ka Vin was the VP Business Development for Asia and he provided the leadership which ensured all 4 Asia sites delivered a positive EBITDA creating a US$80 million annual recurring revenue contribution from Equinix Asia’s operations by FY 2008.

Ka Vin holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Sheffield Hallam University.
