Chang Cho

Board Member | Korea Data Center Council

Chang is the founder of Onion Software, a leading BMS(Building Management System) and DCIM(Data Center Infrastructure Management) solution provider in Korea over a decade. Onion Software, founded in 2000, is well known in the Korean data center industry as a unified BMS & DCIM player for most major large scale data centers including Korea Telecom, SK Telecom, LG U+, Samsung, Lotte and POSCO.

Along with 18+ years of data center experience, Chang has profound knowledge of data center construction and operation. He is a co-founder and a board member of KDCC (Korea Data Center Council), non-profit independent organization representing Korea data center industry with over 50 member companies.

He is, also, a technical board member of Green Data Center Certificate which is an organization authorized by the Korean government to bestow awards upon energy efficient data centers in the country. He has been investigated PUE and architecture almost every big data center in Korea as a judge for certificate award.

Chang has also been leading many Korea government R&D projects for innovative and disruptive data center technologies. In 2017, he got an award for the most successful R&D accomplishment from ‘Ministry of Science and ICT’.

Chang started his career in 1991 as a software engineer after graduating from Seoul National University with a master degree of computer science. After nearly 10 years’ experience as a software engineer, he moved to HP Korea as a senior consultant in 1999. He jumped on the bandwagon of the IT startup rush in Korea with a monitoring software for IT devices that conducted health checks. It was transformed and evolved into BMS and DCIM after several years as requirements for M&E infra monitoring has risen up.

In August 2017, he established Onion Technology Pte Ltd in Singapore to expand business into Singapore and the SE Asia market. He is CEO of both Korea and Singapore companies, staying both Asia’s top-tier cities half and half.

Bruce Moore

Lee Seng Wee

Ian Goh

Ian holds several engineering qualifications and a post graduate diploma in technology management. David Nagrosst

Johnson Tan

Johnson is the APAC Head of Building Operations. He is responsible for Real Estate, Projects, Engineering, Facilities, Health and Safety and Environment for Barclays Bank.

Johnson has more than 18 years of professional experience in critical engineering design and operations which include Tier 3 Data Centers, Trading floors and Smart Offices. He has previously worked for Deutsche Bank AG, Jones Lang LaSalle and Hewlett Packard.

Johnson was a Speaker at the Data Center World Conference 2014 in Hong Kong, Data Center Dynamics 2015 in Singapore, and Judging Panel for the Data Center Dynamics Data Center Award Judging Panel in 2014 and 2016.

Johnson obtained a B.Eng. (First Class honors) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, and an M.Sc.(Environmental Management) degree from the National University of Singapore. He is a Professional Engineer, and is also a Green Mark Manager accredited by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, and a Licensed Electrical Worker by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore. Johnson is also the  Sword of Merit recipient from the Singapore Armed Forces.

Fong Kam Chee

Liak is knowledgeable with the design, project management and services delivery of data centers. He also has a specialisation in information and communication technology and is experienced in the design and implementation of commercial projects.

Liak has deep knowledge with data center infrastructure, electrical, mechanical and ICT systems. He is active in the data center industry and had been invited to speak at industry gatherings and data center conferences. His achievements have been recognised by the industry and he was also invited to participate in standard bodies and contributed to the publication of SS 564 – Singapore Standard for Green Data Centers.

Liak holds an Honors Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New England in Australia. Jacqueline Chan

Ashton Soh

His main role is to grow MIT’s asset under management including data centers. As the VP of Investment, he is also in charge of the development and evaluation of potential business opportunities for industrial properties. His work includes formulating market entry/exit strategies to ensure higher returns upon disposition and complete deep-dive analytic reviews across operators and properties to seek new opportunities that could increase profitability and flow through.  In his previous role as the Associate Director of Managed Hosting in Singtel where he was responsible for the vision and direction of Singtel’s Data Centers across Asia. Ashton also co-chair the DC Committee in SGTech (representing the industry for key developments in Data Centers). Ashton has around 17 years of experience in the ICT industry. Nelson Tan

Director of InfoComm Infrastructure | Nanyang Technological University

Nelson Tan is the Director of InfoComm Infrastructure at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He had headed various functions over the span of his career, such as Infrastructure, End User Technology, Application Offshore Development, Service Management, Security, and driving application adoption of cloud technologies towards IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Science (Computer and Information Sciences), and Master of Business Administration.

At NTU, Nelson is responsible for university wide IT infrastructure, High-Performance Computing facilities and the management of IT teams responsible for Line of Business applications development and support.

Prior to joining NTU, Nelson headed the Core Infrastructure and Operations team in GIC. Nelson was responsible for driving the cloud strategy, providing thought and technical leadership in Cloud to both infrastructure as well as application teams in the development of cloud ready and cloud native systems, and engaging business owners on the cost-benefit of Cloud adoption.

In PSA, Nelson was heading various functions, such as Security, Project and Service Management, Application Offshore Development, Systems, Network, Database, where he was responsible for technology modernization to support massive automated terminal operations, and new port terminals as part of business capacity growth. With the backdrop of tighter cybersecurity protection of Singapore’s Critical Infrastructure, Nelson was also responsible for the IT Security of the firm, where he formalized and championed a 2-year Security Master Plan that significantly improved the cybersecurity detection, prevention and recovery capabilities.


Wong Ka Vin

Managing Director | DC1st

Ka Vin brings with him over 30 years of Executive Management and leadership roles in the ICT industry. He is the Founder and Managing Director of DC1st Pte Ltd, a Singapore company established in 2017.

Prior to establishing DC1st, Ka Vin served as the MD of 1-Net where he led a major rebranding process, continued to grow its revenue by expanding their customer base and built SEA’s 1st Uptime Tier III DCCF DC in Singapore.

Previously, Ka Vin was the MD for CSF Asia where he was responsible for extending CSF Group DC business into Indonesia through the formation of a JV between PT Cyber CSF with KGN Group. He was responsible for constructing Jakarta’s largest and newest Data Center which was designed for the Telecom and Banking Industry. This is now the NTT Nexcenter DC in Jakarta.

Ka Vin spent 11 years in Singapore Technologies Telemedia where he held key management positions.  He was involved in the early days of ST Telemedia’s growth in the industry, working on M&A and tenders for Telco licences both in Singapore and the region. He headed the team that developed the successful proposal for Starhub Mobile. Ka Vin went on to be one of the 2 prime founders of i-STT Data Centre which subsequently became Equinix, the world’s largest data center operator today. At Equinix, Ka Vin was the VP Business Development for Asia and he provided the leadership which ensured all 4 Asia sites delivered a positive EBITDA creating a US$80 million annual recurring revenue contribution from Equinix Asia’s operations by FY 2008.

Ka Vin holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Sheffield Hallam University.
