Google Cloud is setting its sights on Korean enterprises, aiming to propel them towards innovation through the power of generative AI and its cloud computing services. This commitment was announced by Chi Ki-sung, country director of Google Cloud Korea, during a press conference held ahead of the Google Cloud Summit Seoul.

Chi emphasized Google Cloud’s position as a leader in the generative AI era. He highlighted their mission to guide businesses in harnessing the potential of this technology, especially during a time of heightened expectations.

Google Cloud, according to Chi, offers a comprehensive suite of tools encompassing everything from its AI chip, the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), to advanced software solutions. This empowers businesses to undergo digital transformation and unlock a multitude of benefits, including increased operational efficiency, enhanced productivity, and a more satisfied workforce.

Collaboration is already underway between Google Cloud and leading Korean companies and startups, yielding promising results with generative AI. Their focus areas include boosting productivity for knowledge workers and coders, personalizing customer interactions through conversational AI, and automating back-office tasks.

The Google Cloud Summit Seoul served as a platform to introduce the company’s AI Agent, a cloud-connected service designed to fuel customer innovation across various industries with the power of generative AI. This service caters to a wide range of needs, from assisting shoppers in finding the perfect wedding dress to streamlining patient information handover for nurses during shift changes.

Kakao Healthcare, a prominent local digital healthcare provider, is one of Google Cloud’s collaborators. Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, highlighted the flexibility and openness of Google Cloud’s approach.

Unlike other providers, Google Cloud prioritizes expanding the ecosystem rather than enforcing its own models. This allows companies like Kakao Healthcare to freely experiment with various AI models and select the one that delivers the most effective results.
