Giga Computing and Empyrion Digital Partner on AI-Ready Data Center in Taiwan

Empyrion Digital's TW1 data center

Giga Computing, a subsidiary of GIGABYTE, and Empyrion Digital, a leading digital infrastructure provider in Asia, have announced a strategic partnership to develop Empyrion Digital’s first AI-ready data center in Taiwan.

Located in Neihu Technology Park, the facility, named TW1, will offer up to 7MW of IT capacity and is expected to commence operations in 2027. Construction is slated to begin in 2025.

The partnership will leverage GIGABYTE’s GIGAPOD, a modular compute cluster solution designed for AI workloads. Giga Computing will provide end-to-end services, including planning, deployment, and commissioning, to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability goals are met.

TW1 will incorporate advanced cooling technologies and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) to achieve Taiwan’s Green Building Gold Certification.

Taiwan, a global semiconductor powerhouse and a hub for technology and R&D, is emerging as a key data center market in North Asia. The increasing demand from domestic and international cloud, content providers, and enterprises, coupled with limited supply, presents a significant opportunity for Empyrion Digital.

Empyrion Digital’s data center portfolio includes an operational 7.7MW facility in Singapore, a 29.4MW facility under construction in Seoul, South Korea, and planned 25MW and 12MW data centers in Tokyo, Japan, and Bangkok, Thailand, respectively.
