GDS Holdings has announced that it has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement to acquire a prime plot of land at 21 Jalan Buroh in Singapore. This move will pave the way for GDS International, the company’s subsidiary, to establish its first data center in the country.
The acquisition comes on the heels of GDS International being awarded new data center capacity by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Economic Development Board (EDB) under the Pilot Data Centre Call for Application (DC-CFA) initiative.
This capacity allocation reinforces GDS International’s commitment to supporting Singapore’s digital economy and meeting the growing demand for high-performance computing, cloud, and AI services.
The newly acquired land, located near the Jurong East Data Center Cluster, offers a total gross floor area of 39,978 square meters. This prime location provides ample room for future expansion, allowing GDS International to scale its capacity through innovative power supply technologies as opportunities arise.
The first phase of the data center project is expected to be operational around Q4 2026. This timely development will enable GDS International to meet the increasing demand for data center services in Singapore and position itself as a key player in the country’s digital infrastructure landscape.
