Luxembourg-based cloud provider Gcore is making strides in the Korean market with its inaugural GPU-centric data center set to open in Incheon. Scheduled for launch on April 15, the facility will be armed with 320 Nvidia H100 graphics processing units, marking Gcore’s foray into the Korean cloud arena.
The decision to establish a presence in Korea stems from the escalating demand for AI integration among local enterprises. Jung Hyun-yong, head of Gcore Korea, emphasized the strategic significance of Korea as a market during a recent press event held in central Seoul.
The company’s collaboration with Korean cloud provider NHN Cloud, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last year, underscores its commitment to navigating the Korean market successfully.
NHN Cloud sees the partnership with Gcore as a strategic move to bolster its platform capabilities and expand its reach into the European market. Leveraging Gcore’s expertise and Nvidia’s latest GPUs, NHN Cloud aims to reinforce its position in the competitive cloud landscape.
CEO Kim Dong-hoon highlighted the industry trend of prioritizing GPU inventory acquisition and efficient customer delivery, signaling NHN Cloud’s proactive approach to meeting evolving market demands.
