Digital infrastructure and high-performance computing (HPC) data center solutions provider EdgeMode Inc., and data center developer SUB1 DCS Ltd., have established a strategic partnership to deploy data centers across Sweden and Spain.
In a press release, the companies said, “Under the agreement, SUB1 will partner with EdgeMode to offer capacity in Sweden and Spain to its customers, to provide design and delivery expertise, and to introduce sources of capital.” They also said that both companies “are focused on the development of energy-efficient data centers that are delivered in a flexible way to suit the requirements of next generation customers in an AI-powered world and the unique hosting needs of high-performance compute infrastructure.”
Charlie Faulkner, Chief Executive Officer, EdgeMode said, “Our partnership with SUB1 represents a significant milestone in EdgeMode’s European expansion strategy. The collaboration will strengthen our ability to meet increasing customer demand for sustainable, high-performance data center infrastructure.”

According to Mordor Intelligence, the data center market size in Sweden is estimated at 398.6 MW in 2025, and is expected to reach 487.3 MW by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 4.10 percent. Sweden is also among the highest consumers of renewable electricity in the EU with two-thirds (66.4 percent) of its gross final energy consumption coming from renewable sources in 2023 with the primary energy sources being biofuels, hydro and wind as per Eurostat.
Meanwhile, Grand View Horizon says that the data center market in Spain generated €5.5 million (US$ 6.5 million) in revenue in 2024, and is projected to reach €11 million (US$ 12.5 million) by 2030. The market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 11.5 percent between 2025 and 2030. According to Red Electrica, which is the sole transmission system operator (TSO) for the Spanish electricity system, renewable energy makes 56 percent of total electricity generation in Spain.
