Global cloud and data centre provider Digital Realty has signed an agreement with Cypress Telecom (CypressTel) to deliver enhanced connectivity for Digital Realty’s customers in China and the broader Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Digital Realty will make the enhanced connectivity possible through PlatformDIGITAL, a global data centre platform designed to allow customers to scale their businesses digitally, and CypressTel’s managed network solutions.

By collaborating with CypressTel, a global ICT and carrier network service provider, Digital Realty can allow customers at its data centres in Hong Kong to tap into service offerings available. This platform can benefit Digital Realty’s customers by enabling their access to workloads across data centres and across multiple clouds, while still utilising a cost-effective infrastructure.

CypressTel’s managed network services would complement the flexible network access available to customers within Digital Realty’s data centres.

Delivering Seamless Connectivity across APAC

Digital Realty operates a network of data centres throughout APAC, with data centres located in Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Osaka.

By collaborating with CypressTel, which runs a broad core network in China, customers may benefit from the seamless connectivity between Digital Realty’s data centres, as well as customer sites and cloud service providers.

As such, the partnership between two global corporations, Digital Realty and CypressTel, could provide a gateway for digital services into China, while concurrently giving Chinese enterprises a means of connecting with other businesses across the globe.

Notably, CypressTel provides both multi-cloud connectivity solutions, along with hybrid WAN and regional network services, which can link data centres, customer sites, remote access users, and hybrid clouds. This enhanced connectivity could be a boon for customers seeking to digitally transform their businesses.

Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management and Acting APAC Managing Director at Digital Realty David Lucey observed that “the need for fast, on-demand and versatile end-to-end networking has become instrumental as businesses continuously find the most cost-effective and quickest way to expand their digital business globally.”

He elaborated on the necessity for strong network connectivity services in digital hub Hong Kong, saying that “instant and simultaneous connection is vital especially with the exponential amount of data being transacted. This is especially relevant given Hong Kong’s position as a major business hub and key entry point for global enterprises looking to scale their operations to Greater China and the broader APAC region.”

“We are excited to collaborate with CypressTel to build on our connectivity offerings and strengthen network services in Greater China and beyond to help customers overcome legacy barriers in their digital pursuits.”

Connee Zhang, CEO of CypressTel, affirmed that “we are delighted to partner with Digital Realty by making our managed network services available to customers in Asia, allowing greater connectivity choices across the region and beyond.  CypressTel’s hybrid offering which includes our fast, on-demand network solutions, hybrid WAN & SD-WAN solutions and managed cloud services are customisable and easily scalable for Digital Realty’s customers to expand their presence in the region and worldwide.”
