Stonepeak-backed Digital Edge yesterday announced a US$ 4.5 billion investment to build CGK Campus, a 500MW hyperscale AI-ready data center in Greater Jakarta, according to the firm’s press release. It is the Singapore-headquartered firm’s largest infrastructure commitment to date and will be one of Indonesia’s largest AI-ready hyperscale data center campuses when completed.
Located in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi, the CGK Campus will be built in multiple phases. Phase one comprises three buildings, the first of which is expected to be ready for service by Q4 2026, followed by the second in Q1 2027 and third in Q2 2027.
When fully developed, the campus will deliver 500MW of IT capacity which is scalable up to 1GW. With a target of 1.25 annualized PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), the campus will feature direct-to-chip liquid cooling, recycled water systems, renewable energy integration, and low-latency access to the capital’s key business districts, being located about 40 kilometers from Digital Edge’s downtown EDGE1 and EDGE2 facilities.
Additionally, the campus will be underpinned by strong connectivity provided by Indonet, Digital Edge’s wholly owned Indonesian telecommunications subsidiary.
“The CGK Campus is a pivotal milestone in our APAC strategy and our largest infrastructure investment to date,” said John Freeman, CEO of Digital Edge. “This landmark investment will enable us to drive the next decade of innovation, cloud adoption, and digital services across Indonesia and the broader region.”
“Indonesia’s digital economy is expanding faster than infrastructure can keep up. The CGK Campus bridges that gap with 500MW of sustainable, carrier-neutral capacity built for hyperscale and AI deployments,” added Stephanus Oscar, CEO of Digital Edge Indonesia. “
Formerly known as EDGE DC, Digital Edge Indonesia underwent a rebranding exercise in December 2025 to align better with its role as a future-ready digital infrastructure leader, fully integrated into a regional network.
With EDGE1 and EDGE2 delivering a combined capacity of 29MW, Digital Edge Indonesia is now the largest data center operator in downtown Jakarta. Recently, it secured USD 325 million (IDR 5.5 trillion) in financing from PT Bank Central Asia TBk (BCA) to drive its new digital infrastructure builds in Jakarta, refinance an existing BCA facility, and complete EDGE2.
