DCI Data Centers (DCI), a wholly owned portfolio company of Brookfield, has partnered with Koramco Asset Management, a real estate and energy/infrastructure fund, to develop a 40MW hyperscale data centre in Seonggok-dong, Ansan, South Korea.
This is DCI’s second project in the country after its 20MW SEL01 data centre in Seoul’s Gasan-dong district. The new project site spread over 10,448m², is reportedly located within the Sihwa National Industrial Complex, in close proximity to Naman-san IC and adjacent road access, including National Route 77.
“This project in Ansan represents a significant step in our regional expansion in key focused markets in APAC. It is designed specifically to meet the needs of AI and cloud-first workloads,” said DCI Group CEO Sumit Mukhija.
“We are excited to take this next step in expanding our infrastructure portfolio with the development of our second data centre facility in the region,” said Hugh Park, CEO of Koramco Asset Management.
According to media reports, an electricity usage agreement has been completed with Korea Electric Power Corporation, and construction is expected to begin either later this year or early next year. The facility is scheduled to commence operations in 2028.
