Asia’s largest rated-4 data center provider, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, is sharpening its strategy to increase the number of data centers. In more details, the company expressed its ambition to triple the existing 8 data centers to 25 by 2025, as well as expanding its footprint by an additional five million sq ft from the current 1.2.

To achieve this goal, the two million sq ft Hyperscale Datacenter Park, which is in Navi Mumbai, is already under construction. Another CtrlS data center of similar size in Hyderabad is ready for construction. Additionally, the company has commenced work on a one million sq ft datacenter campus in Chennai.

These projects will collectively increase the company’s portfolio by over 600MW of capacity.

“In addition to these large DC Parks, CtrlS Datacenters is also setting up a hyperscale datacenter facility in Kolkata, which is a key gateway to Northeast. We are fully geared up to emerge as the world’s largest [Tia-942] rated-4 data center player,” Sridhar Pinnapureddy, chairman at CtrlS commented on the expansion.

Beyond the Indian borders, the company is also eyeing opportunities for business expansion in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, which reportedly have the capacity of 10-50MW.

Speaking of their international expansion, CtrlS president and chief business officer Royce Thomas said: “Southeast Asia and the Middle East have emerged as our priority markets as digitalization is at its peak here. Several enterprises in these markets have drawn up their digital transformation roadmap, and CtrlS will enable them in their path.”
