CtrlS to launch new data center in Gujarat

CtrlS Datacenters Ltd., a major player in Asia’s data center market, is all set to launch a new data center in Gujarat. The facility named Gandhinagar1 will come up in the Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City.

CtrlS announced on a business networking platform that the ground-breaking ceremony for the facility will take place in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupen Patel on December 22.

It said, “22nd December 2023 will mark an extraordinary milestone in our journey,” adding, “We are all set to celebrate tech innovation and honour Gujarat’s legacy in technology.”

The company, however, has not revealed the data center’s capacity or any other details so far.

GIFT City is a high-tech smart city set up to provide quality digital infrastructure and attractive tax policies, to enable an environment conducive to business growth. Currently it is home to companies engaged in businesses such as banking and financial services, IT/ITES, gems and jewellery etc.

This new development comes in wake of the company’s announcement earlier this year about its plans to invest US$ 2 Billion over the next six years. CtrlS has four hyperscale facilities in Mumbai, two in Hyderabad, and one each in Bangaluru, NOIDA and Kolkata. Two hyperscale facilities are coming up in Chennai.

Additionally it has Edge data centers in Lucknow and Patna, and recently announced plans to build a 10 MW facility in Uttarakhand.
