Data center service provider, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, has announced a new $2 billion investment plan to be rolled out over the next six years.
The plan will focus on three main key areas in a bid to scale operations, confirm its commitment to India and lastly, to install its position as an industry leader. One of the main pillars of focus is to add 350 MW of AI and cloud-ready hyperscale data centers. Following a growing surge in AI adoption and cloud technology, a subsequent rise in demand for AI and cloud databases has ensued.
Investment in a number of key technologies and strategies will see growth in advanced cooling systems, power management and general improvements in infrastructure for new hyperscale data centers. Liquid cooling, AI optimized technologies, high-efficiency power infrastructure is to be implemented, which will allow for emerging service providers to grow IT footprints with ease and optimum efficiency.
CtrlS Datacenters currently holds 12 centers with 234 mW capacity across seven major cities in India. These include Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida, Lucknow and Patna.
The plans also express the aim to achieve a net zero policy, or carbon neutrality by the year 2030, by investing in 153 mWp solar projects across three markets, which will generate 2,50,000 mWh of energy on an annual basis. To achieve this, a 145 mWp solar project will be installed in Maharashtra; CtrlS aims to invest further in 300 mWp projects by 2025. Water conservation will be deployed with the goal to achieve 100% recycled water use in all data centers nationwide.
Lastly, CtrlS seeks to double its headcount by 2029, hiring new talent and skillsets. Several industry leaders from global MNCs have been brought onboard recently to strengthen proceedings, which the company aims to continue, hiring over 1000 individuals over the upcoming next six years.
